Calcium chloride anhydrous is a colorless cubic crystal. Appearance is white or off-white porous block or granular, honeycomb. Odorless, slightly bitter taste. Relative density 2.15. Melting point is 782 ℃. The boiling point is above ℃. It is highly hygroscopic and easily deliquescent when exposed to air. It is easily soluble in water and releases a lot of heat at the same time, and its aqueous solution is slightly acidic. Soluble in alcohol, and acetic acid.

1. Used as a multi-purpose desiccant, such as drying of nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide and other gases.

2. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigerators and ice making.

3. It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar. It is an excellent building antifreeze.
